Week in Review: April 21-25

Well this was our testing week, so no pictures this week. Sorry.

The kids each took their acheivement tests and we sent them off today for grading. I'll post about the results when we get them back. The testing went well the kids seemed to have no trouble at all with any part of the tests.

I'm glad we're done with our year but I've already had comments from the kids such as "Why do we have to stop, can't we just keep going" So we will but on a lighter pace.

Our schedule will now look like this.

Language Arts: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Math: Mondays and Wednesdays
Science: Fridays
History: Daily
Geography: Fridays
Reading: 20-30 minutes of free reading daily
Penmanship: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Latin: We'll be starting an Intro to Latin and will do that 2-3 days a week as the kids feel interested.

Once we finish the middle ages which should be in a week or two we'll start an 8 week Native American Unit study which the kids are looking forward to.

We'll also continue to have story time at night. We have quite a pile of books for me to read to the kids, most having to do with the middle ages that we've studied this year in history.

We've also finally gotten our Earthboxes and will be planting the rest of our garden in the next few days. As well as keeping an eye on our Painted Lady caterpillars which we're hoping will start making chrysalides soon so we can see them hatch.

Matt is out at sea right now and won't be back for another month which generally means the kids go into serious school mode. They just seem to want to do lots when he's gone so we can take a long break when he gets back.

I wish you all the best in your summer breaks if your taking them, if not then I wish you continued success in your school year.

Hi! I loved your weekly report. Enjoy your summer and congratulations to your sweet kids for their wonderful test scores. We will be testing for the first time at the end of this month, too.

Blessings,
Jennefer
