This Phoenix is Regenerating

I've been thinking a lot lately about this blog, about what it is and what I want it to be.  After mulling this over, I've decided this Phoenix has had a good life, but it's time to for this bird to lay on the pyre and burn itself out.  Not to worry, because just like the Phoenix of mythology we will rise from the ashes, to start a new journey.

I won't just be posting about schooling the kids.  I'm going to start posting about all aspects of our life.

We hope you will continue to enjoy reading about our adventure.

I've been published on another blog twice and somehow never thought to link it.

I have no idea why I'm first realizing this today, probably because I'm pretty new to all this.  I have a group of awesome friends that started a classical education blog called Sandbox to Socrates.  They have honored me by publishing not one, but two of my articles, with a third in the pipeline.
Please go check out them out, and while you're there take a look at the other incredible articles, by this amazing group of women.

2013-2014 Week 14

This week started out pretty well, not as much was done as I had scheduled, but we had a couple of snow days.

Matt was home on Monday so he joined in and did a little of the teaching.  The kids all managed to do math daily, and we did some history and science this week.  Everett did a rewrite of his last assignment for IEW to add a few new dress-ups to it.

We'll have a full week coming up and then a week off as Matt and I have a class to go to all week for some Navy stuff.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and I'll be back again next week with a review of Week 15.

2013-2014 Week 13

This week certainly didn't go anything like I had planned.  I had such high hopes for our first week back in the new year.  Seems like someone had other plans, and we ended up hacking our way through the week.  I got sick over the weekend and then Monday all 3 kids woke up feeling like slightly warmed over death.

All of them did a few math pages or a test and then we spent the rest of the week watching things like Modern Marvels, or How it's Made.

The last few days of the week ended with Lucas having a 103 fever, luckily it broke after a couple days and the kids all sound like their on the mend.

We're hoping to work on the holiday come Monday, but we'll have to see just what they are like when they wake up that morning.
